WKFE

The Wushu Kungfu Federation of Europe (WKFE) is the officially recognized European continental federation for wushu. The recognition was given to the WKFE by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) on 21 September 2023. IWUF was established in 1990 has 158 member-nations and is the sole entity officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the worldwide governing body for the sport of wushu (kungfu).

What is Wushu?

Wushu, commonly known as kungfu, refers to all martial arts styles originated in China, includes disciplines ranging from tai chi to full contact fighting. For elite competition, wushu is standardized and divided into 2 disciplines.

Taolu

Taolu, or forms, are choreographed routines. There are two categories: empty-hand (without weapons) and weapons including broad sword, straight sword, staff and spear.

Sanda

Sanda is full contact fighting. Fighters are paired by weight class, and matches of three rounds each are conducted on lei tai, a raised platform. Sanda athletes may employ punching, kicking, wrestling, and throwing techniques from all styles of wushu.
